To help me create my tagline I had to research different thrillers and their taglines.
- Inception: Your mind is the scene of the crime
- Minority Report: Everybody Runs
- The Bourne Identity: He was the perfect weapon until he became the target
- XXX: A new breed of secret agent
- 2 Fast 2 Furious: How fast do you like it?
- Doppleganger: Sometimes love can be a killer
- Phone Booth: Your life is on the line
- Taken: Time is running out
- The Adjustment Bureau: Fight for your fate.
- Unknown: Take back your life
- Inside Man: It looked like the perfect bank robbery. But you can't judge a crime by its cover.
- The Manchurian Candidate: Everything is under control
- Hostage: Would you sacrifice another family to save your own?
- Assault on Precinct 13: Unite and fight
- The Ghost Writer: Read between the lines
- Lord of War: Where there's a will. There's a weapon.
- The Da Vinci Code: Seek the truth
- Shooter: Yesterday was about honour. Today is about Justice.
- Valkyrie: Many saw evil. Thy dared to stop it.
- Knowing: What happens when the numbers run out?
- Angels & Demons: Tell the world the truth.
Words such as 'Time', 'Fight', 'Crime', 'Run' and 'Target' reflect the genre most. Most of the taglines are direct and create a feeling of unease. I will take all of this analysis into account when creating my own tagline.
Oscar - this is an excellent range of taglines, from a large number of thrillers. Don't forget that the tagline often directly targets the audience with the word 'you' or 'your', or by asking a question of the viewer. Remember to incorporate some of these ideas into any taglines that you create.
