Script for News Reporter

The beginning of the film starts with a new reporter, reporting on riots all over the world. I am starting to think about a script for the reporter. This is a first draft.

"The riots continue to break out all over the world, with the most recent taking place in Vancouver, Syria, London and Greece in the last hour. At this stage, the reason for the riots is completely unknown; world leaders are said to be meeting for an urgent summit in Geneva to figure out the cause of the violence spreading across the globe."

Companies

Looking at other hollywood style thrillers, I am to decide which companies will produce and distribute the film and its marketing campaign.

Production: Syncopy in association with Legendary Pictures.
Syncopy Films (also known as Syncopy) is a British production company founded by director, writer and producer Christopher Nolan and wife producer Emma Thomas. Previous films include Batman Begins, The prestige, The Dark Knight and Inception. Many of their films are in Co-Production with Legendary Pictures.

Legendary Pictures is an American film production company, whose parent company, Legendary Entertainment, is based in Burbank, California and was founded by Thomas Tull in 2004. In 2005 the company concluded a 40-picture agreement to co-produce and co-finance with Warner Bros. Previous films they produced include 300, The Town and Watchmen.

Distribution: Warner Bros.
Warner Bros. (though the name was occasionally given in full form as Warner Brothers during the company's early years), is an American producer of film and television entertainment. They are well renowned for hollywood films, where they have a huge market in distribution. Previous film they have distributed are 'The Dark Knight' and 'Inception' amongst other, these are the same genre as my film.

Billing / Credits Research

To help me to create my own billing and credits I have to analyse an example off an existing poster. i chose 'The Bourne Supremacy'. This is an especially helpful choice as it is from the genre of thriller.

Magazine Title Cover

I tried many different fonts to use as the title on the masthead for my magazine front covers. These are the fonts.
1. The First 'Enter Sansman' looks to "funky" for the type of publication that I am creating, it is not professional enough.

2. Eagle Bold Cg - This the top candidate. It is bold, professional and easy to read.

3. Geneva - This simply is not thick/bold enough. The title has to catch the readers eye, this does not.

4. Hobo STD - The font is not formal enough for this type of publication

5. Maybe Maybe Not - This font has too much going on in it, it is distracting.

6. PortagolTC TT - This font is too army like. It looks like a telegram.

7. Tahoma - Is simply not bold enough like Geneva.

This is the short list I narrowed down all of the fonts I researched too, yet I gave their benefits or disadvantages. I Am choosing Eagle Bold CG, not only for these reasons above but also because it is similar to that of Empire or Total Film which is following a convention give the type of publication that my magazine will be (mainstream).
